My apologies. I've been staring at an exhaustless engine for so long, I
didn't even think about the muffler being in the way of measuring what I'd
requested. Only mildly embarrassing. haha. So.....

For Vanagon owners with a diesel or gas VW inline gas engine mounted on
diesel carrier bars, with the engine lid on if you put tape measure up to
bottom of engine lid, how far down is the centre of the crank pulley from
engine lid bottom?
