Looks like the MSRP in 1968 was $2249, making the $30K 13.33x the 1968
MSRP.  The $30K is just about in the middle (slightly below)
 of the $15k-$49K range that NADA shows them selling for retail.

Given these NADA values, an owner should not have that much fight on his
hands if he needed to collect on insurance, though the issuer might hold
out for a while for the lower amount.  The "underwriter" typically bases
rates on the NADA prices.
