For the last 4 weeks, there has been a torrent of traffic from overseas SPAMmers trying (and sometimes succeeding) to use the Vanagon list server to deliver their messages.
 
Even when the messages were refused, the load caused Gerry (the Vanagon list server) problems. I have added host-based firewall software to the server and blocked entire ranges of IP addresses from accessing Gerry.
 
This will hopefully resolve the issue, with one downside: If you plan on travelling to mainland China, do not expect to be able to access Gerry.  ;)
