Hmmm...that Canyon De Chelly that Bill Witz mentioned....I've been all over the southwest USA but never to that place.  Seems like a nice time of year to go there.  OK...pulling out maps now!!!  Road Trip here we come!  Like maybe tomorrow!
Dave C., I broke down once in my van in Tuba City (intermittent starter); good country; thanks for the tip on the NPS sites.  (ha-ha...now have TGI starter with Karl Mullendore's adapter in my Subie 2.2 Vanagon...take THAT Tuba City!!)

Also thinking of New Mexico....maybe even a stop to Walter White's house and other locations from the Breaking Bad series.  Just for the fun of it, I'm a big fan of that show.  Anybody got any tips with regard to that?

Id suggest Navajo National Monument between Tuba City and Kayenta.  Interesting NPS site with several hikes and guided walks of the ruins.  Free, first-come, first-served, semi-developed camping.  We will often stop there after leaving Flagstaff on a Friday afternoon enroute to IL's (outlaws?)  in Utah.
