Hi Listers, A friend just dropped off som random VW stuff for me to use or find homes for. I am wondering. would the oil plug from a bay window or splitty be the same as the one I use in my 1.9? I found two in the collection. He said he replaced them with magnetic ones and they were fine. Also, I have a jack that looks like a bay or splitty jack in very clean condition. Can I use it on the vanagon or is it not strong enough? It is more rouind then my Vanagon jack and has a small metal piece that slips on the turning nut and a bar that goes in that to raise and lower the jack. Interestingly I now am the owner of a very nice 1972 VW bus rear hatch red and white. Apart from the bus it is a lot smaller then I remember. It is pretty darn clean so it might make a nice wall hanging. I also now have a completely clean boared out engine case ready to be rebuilt still in the plastic from the shop. Only I don’t know what bus it is from! My friend doesn’t remember and he owned both splitties and bays! Finding these things homes is going to be fun. Did any busses have headlight switches as a push button. in the collection is a large button that sounds like a headlight high low to me. It has three spade connectors. So, are the oil plugs and jacks interchangeable? Thanks, Eric Caron 85 GL Auto
