I have what appears to be a very small leak from the passenger side flange
of our manual transmission.

If I remember correctly there are actually two potential sources for the
leak: the seal itself, and teh center cap.  Presumably it is easier to just
replace the center cap.  Is there an easy way to tell which is leaking?
