Hi folks. No hits searching by subject so here goes. This is for a 1.6 NA diesel engine. Muffler bracket position aside, is the bracket (arm) between oil pan and muffler bent to help make the bracket stiffer? Direct link to image showing the bends on that bracket: https://c1552172.ssl.cf0.rackcdn.com/742649_x800.jpg I'm obviously guessing as to whether or not bending a bracket or brace would actually stiffen it but in the process of making that bracket for my ABA gas engine swap, I over looked that detail and am wondering if I need to a gusset to brace that bracket.
