‘83 Vanagon, manual, 1.9 engine, Digijet.  
I don’t know any history, they brought it on a flatbed to me.  I think, the guy just bought it as is.

in order to know more about your problem... please tell us... 
- year, engine, transmission (manual or auto)?
- what did you do to it recently?
- it's all of the sudden or long time no use?
- crank but no start or no crank at all?

etc etc etc.... fil it in... fill it in the story...  so we may help if we can...
