Wrong wrong and wrong.
PPG is no longer making Automotive Glass. PGW which is now owned by LKQ and has their glass made in China. They make a Tint and a Shaded glass with a U.S. style blue band which I feel is hideous.
Those parts are also made by XYG and FYG in both a tint and a more subtle euro style green shade.
There are no more OE parts from VW. So it’s Chinese Re pop only.
The industry part numbers are
FW 416 GTN - Tint
FW 416 GGN - Shade
I’ve spent the better part of my life in the glass business and it’s amazing how little I know about😏.

There used to be a version with a tint at the top and one without, not sure if both are still made. Prices can vary dramatically so it's worth calling two or three auto glass places. If you're worried about the seal you can always buy one from us. If you have a lot of rot under the windshield we sell inexpensive weld-in repair sections that are properly contoured (our part # 251898035).
