Belt broke. My kids were in back seat and said they heard a high pitched sound; at frequencies I apparently do not hear... We pulled off, I listened and was able to hear it a little. We had another couple of miles to go, so opted to drive to that spot. As I pulled out there was a large bang, so stopped immediately and found broken belt. Replaced all 3 belts and looked at all pulleys. Seemed fine and got really good help from vanagon owners here on Bowen. Great thing, this list! > On Jul 28, 2019, at 6:00 PM, OlRivrRat <OlRivrRat@comcast.net> wrote: > > Did the Belt Break or Come Off in 1 piece ~ If Later be sure You don't have a > > Loose & Wobbly Pulley > Especially the Crank Pulley ~ > > >> On 28 Jul , 2019, at 11:02 AM, Douglas Toomey wrote: >> >> All, >> >> 87 Vanagon, driving well.
