That's why I installed a lower (on the windshield) rear view mirror.  The original I point towards the right rear to get rid of the blind spot and see how close one is to my rear bumper.

I'd almost be tempted to sell it but some idiot would sue me saying he had an accident because I advised him to put a sticker over his rear view mirror. :-) That being said, the top part of a Westy rear view mirror is useless anyway because it only points at the headbanger cabinet over the bed...might have to make myself a sticker to fill that space...
