Been copied over and over again; yes, the patents have run out long ago. The concept is still being used today, and methinks it will be used for decades beyond. So wonderful! I have a narrow garage..and I appreciate the thought that went into this whole marvelous design. Well done, VW. > > Rich > San Diego > > On Thursday, January 2, 2020, 6:47:04 PM PST, Richard Koerner <rjkinpb@sbcglobal.net> wrote: > > Yes, very nice site indeed. Mine is an '85 Tintop. Around that year, Chrysler did the whole mini-van Soccer Mom concept. Which sorta explains why the sales and production numbers of VW Vanagons dropped significantly right around then. Easy automatic trans, A/C that worked...all that stuff for the Chrysler product. They did a sorta OK job, we must all admit. Still, not the same; just too small, not as robust. Interesting though. For me....I'm very grateful that Hobart Kennedy pioneered the Subie Conversion thing. Loving it! And...my A/C works! > > Rich > San Diego > > On Thursday, January 2, 2020, 5:52:45 PM PST, Tom Hargrave <thargrav@hiwaay.net> wrote: > > Nice site! > > Thanks, Tom Hargrave > www.kegkits.com - Electric Brewery Info > www.towercooler.com - Beer Tower Cooler > http://goo.gl/niRzVw - My Amazon Store > www.brew-control.com - Electric Brewery Marketing and Direct Sales > http://www.hackpilot.com/roadkill/ - A little twisted humor > > > > -----Original Message----- > From: Vanagon Mailing List [mailto:vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM] On Behalf Of > Jim Davis > Sent: Thursday, January 2, 2020 7:08 PM > To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM > Subject: Updates at www.Vanagons.org > > Hi all! > > > > Please don't forget the S at the end of VanagonS.org if you type instead of > clicking. > > > > It's taken me a while, but the 1984 Vanagon materials are finally published, > at least a first draft.
