Subject:Re: Wheel suggestion. The spare tire carrier!

As I did with a slightly wider 15" tire, if one keeps the spare tire
carrier hinge as-is and uses a spacer to lower the front end of the
carrier, be sure to enlarge the bolt hole in securing tab on carrier
to allow the 19 mm head securing bolt to thread in properly. If you
don't enlarge the securing tap hole, the bolt will be forced to go in
at an angle making it easy for the uninitiated to cross thread that
bolt. Repair to the captive nut in frame could be tricky IMO.

I removed the OE spare tire bars above that hold the tire down on the
carrier then used a ratchet strap at holes in wheel to pull the tire
down on the carrier. Conveniently, the ratchet strap hooks just fit
into holes on the carrier. This method has worked reliably to keep the
spare tire from moving around.
