Correct, that's what I was getting at. The NA version was badged Dodge or Freightliner due to ownership agreements, but other than gasoline versions 100% Mercedes with badging. The MB badging wasn't used here until Dodge was disconnected from the Sprinter deal. Any early ones floating around had the Dodge or FL badges ripped off and replaced with the 'true' ones, which is what both of mine have. The only way to get a T1N Sprinter 4x4 here is to import the parts, which is the path I chose, because the 'new' version leaves a lot to be desired: no lockers, no shift on the fly, no full-time AWD, no manual trans option, and no optional engine choice. It's all V6, autobox, electronics out the wazoo. Nope, not for me. I'm building my 2003 with the venerable 5-cyl, 5-speed, center and rear lockers, full-time AWD. :D On 1/15/2020 9:49 AM, Roy Nicholl wrote: > Karl: > > We didn’t receive any MB badged Sprinter models here until 2003 and most were still Freightliner / Dodge until the second generation chassis came. > > My dump-bodies are antiquated imports. > > The AWD Sprinter vans have been available since 2017/2018 … there is a local dentist whose kids go to my son’s school who bought one as a school-run vehicle (that can also pull a horse trailer) … north of $70K with all the bells and whistles. > > You can now purchase Sprinter chassis w/ dump body in Canada (and likely the U.S.A), but only the 3500kg version and not the 5000/6000 models and the dumps are not Meiller. >
