Hi Roy, Yup, your notice a leak most of the time by feel. But then again on logging roads not so easy, so there is that. You know that for me a big portion of desire for the system was the diddle factor. Just something to play with. I was maybe hoping it would show any wheel temp differences, but if I thought that through more I’d have realized that the wheel has to get quite hot before it affects the stem mounted sensor, the sensor being cooled in the airstream. :-) Alistair Ps oh Frank, haven’t had any leak down issues with my sensors, 6 months now. They do have locking rings to reduce the chance of the sensors unscrewing . > On Feb 14, 2020, at 5:37 PM, Roy Nicholl <RNicholl@nbnet.nb.ca> wrote: > > I think Alistair’s convenience claim is the most viable, particularly for those times when we do not check our tyres as part of getting underway. > > While a TPMS would show you instances of sudden depressurization, my personal experience with such events is they are undeniably noticeable through the handling and ride of the vehicle. > > A slow leak from something embedded in the tyre such as a screw - or my personal nemesis roofing nails - might be noticed more quickly with a TPMS, but you would still detect these through the handling of the vehicle before pressure became low enough to ruin the tyre. > > Now, if the TPMS system real time display would show loss of fuel economy - in dollars and cents … I’d put them in the company vehicles :-). > > > > >> On 14-Feb-2020, at 20:44, Alistair Bell <albell@SHAW.CA> wrote: >> >> Roy, >> >> I never checked my tire press by gauge daily.
