Subject:Re: My door fell off last night

Hi! I ordered the bearings bundle package from Go Westy via my local VW mechanic shop which is currently closed for the pandemic. Yesterday, thankfully it was not raining I rode my bike five miles each way to the shop. They had left the box on the wheel well of a VW van named Cosmos on the street in front of the closed shop front, so that felt kind of like a treasure hunt.
I’m hoping to install the bearings today but the rain is starting up and since I have zero tools here I’m waiting on someone who does have tools. So far I have two different people on the line who have the correct tools and are willing to help. Now it’s just a matter of dodging the rain and waiting on them to come through. If I had the tools I’d be staring on it right now on my own. Unfortunately I have to wait for someone else. I don’t mind standing in the rain personally, I’d like to get this done ASAP. I intend to do this today or tomorrow no matter what. Thanks again everyone for your help and input.

It’s only held on by the one metal clamp on the bottom door handle side now. My mechanic is closed but he said I could still buy parts from them this week if I need. I’d like to fix this on my own anyway. So I’m going to do some research. Does anyone have any suggestions?
