I took my own advice and installed a “warning system.” I looked around my garage for something to hang there and came up with one of those short wire leads with alligator clips at either end. I clipped one end to either side of the “scissors” of the vent, and tucked the wire up behind the knob. I figure that next time I raise the vent I will let one end dangle down and I will then see that and know that I have left the vent open. In all probability, I will put up with the dangling wire for a while, pull it off “temporarily” and then forget that I’ve done that and be no further ahead. But, it was a try, right? > On Jul 29, 2020, at 12:47 PM, Jack R <jack007@comcast.net> wrote: > > Great idea with the ribbon!!! > > Thanks for all the suggestions! > > Good thing I don't put my Laser sail boat on the roof. > > > > -----Original Message----- > From: Vanagon Mailing List [mailto:vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com] On Behalf Of Richard Smith (Smirby) > Sent: Wednesday, July 29, 2020 12:02 PM > To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM > Subject: Re: Oops... did it again! Then, whenever you put the skylight up, flip that ribbon so that it dangles down - in your sight as you back up. > > Maybe not a perfect solution, but it might help… > > …r > >> On Jul 29, 2020, at 8:40 AM, Richard Koller <brvkoller@GMAIL.COM> wrote: >> >> I've got that beaten, I once forgot my canoe was on the roof and I >> attempted to enter a parking garage!
