I am talking about the Side tent.  I’m wondering if you are talking about the awning? 

I have both.  The Awning works as you say.

It has velcro tabs.

The side tent has similar poles used to hold up the sides or front as awnings.  But the velcro is in strips that should rap around but don’t.  At least I can’t figure it out.
