Yes, edging. The plastic edging that goes over the canvas and staples to
the wood strips inside my 1983 Westy. So, when I pull this out, what are
the chances it is going to be reusable? If it isn't reusable, what do you
replace it with?

I have heard that you could warm it with a heat gun or immerse it in warm
water before use. But this stuff is now almost 40 years old and still has
to go through a brutal staple removal.
