While turning off digest mode or using https://www.base64decode.org
solves the problem, perhaps the bigger issue is that all of Dennis'
messages in the archive are also unreadable.

Every.Single.One.Of.Them!

There are one or two other members that also have the issue. Can
anyone clarify for Dennis (and the few others) what settings they can
change in the program/ app that they use to send messages that would
solve this?

Try turning off Digest mode and enjoy the modest but useful individual posts.
