I won’t be able to get to it til next week but will inform about what I find ~ I have a good replacement harness that came off a Van that I put a GW EFI Kit on & plan to use that if things look real messy when the sheath comes off ~ > On 15 Jun , 2021, at 12:58 AM, stuartmacm@gmail.com wrote: > > Could be the power steering pump switch contact shorted, it's unfused. Disconnect the battery and cut open the sheath to see what's going on. The shorted wire will be obvious (melted copper). I had this happen on a different car years ago and cut the sheath open the full length and separated the wires by peeling them apart. Then I replaced the shorted wire and wrapped the wires that had their insulation melted with tape. It ran for ten years just fine after that. It was also an '80's car with similar size harness. There may only be fatal damage to the wire that shorted and the others can be reclaimed.
