Eric, the tank holds real close to 3 gallons, +/-. However, the fill process vents and stops the delivery when full, is the way I have always understood the fill. The most I have ever gotten at a fill was 2.8 gallons. My camper manual includes the capacity, but it is in the van which is at another location right now. BTW, that manual is a real doozy. Every other page is in French, but it is not English and French duplicates (complete). Only half is in English, half in French. I can read a bit of French, so I have a complete manual, but someone illiterate in one or the other language would have only half a manual, in effect. Really strange, and interesting to switch languages page by page. Must be a Canadian manual, for our biliterate brethen from a country with two official languages. mcneely On Sat, Jun 26, 2021 at 4:55 PM Eric Caron <ericcaron96@comcast.net> wrote: > Is that the size or the recommended amount? > > I seem to remember it should only be filled to a percentage of capacity. > > Anyone know the two numbers size and percent to fill? > > Eric > > > > On Jun 26, 2021, at 5:39 PM, <stuartmacm@gmail.com> < > stuartmacm@gmail.com> wrote: > > > > A little under 3 gallons. > > > > -----Original Message----- > > From: Vanagon Mailing List <vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com> On Behalf Of Eric > > Caron > > Sent: Saturday, June 26, 2021 1:52 PM > > To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM > > Subject: Propane tank size and recommended capacity > > > > Hi folks, > > > > I have my book but it is paper and not something I can quickly read. > > > > Can someone remind me what the capacity of the stock propane tank is and > the > > recommended amount to go in? > > > > I found a place to fill mine but I want to be prepared with this > > information. > > > > Eric Caron > > 85 GL Auto > > >
