I was excited to find the plants. Funny thing though Dave, they weren’t in the logged area, but rather the rocky little road leading down to Lake. I Think originally that was for water access, water truck. We’ve camped on that narrow road right at the lake a few times before. Barely can get the van sideways to level. Never seen the plants there before . Alistair > On Sep 2, 2021, at 9:33 AM, David McNeely <davmcneely40@gmail.com> wrote: > > > Interesting report, Alistair. Not surprising that they weren't there prior to logging, or at least were less common/evident. They like a combination of open, wet, and acidic, conditions that are common to recently logged wet conifer forest. I really like sundews. Do pitcher plants occur that far north? Sometimes the two are both in the same places, but pitchers seem to like it a bit wetter, don't tolerate periodic drying as well. > > McNeely > >> On Thu, Sep 2, 2021 at 8:23 AM Alistair Bell <albell@shaw.ca> wrote: >> Finally got a short trip report posted >> >> https://shufti.blog/2021/09/01/trips-mostly-klanawa/ >> >> Alistair
