Yea dean, made me wonder too when I’m swapping springs or adding pad etc. seemed like the stock perch was way off in angle. But of course it isn’t , the arm rotates up and it’s more inline with spring And I do think the stock aluminum wedge shaped spacer was for the longer arm ( and maybe stiffer springs) in the diesel 16” Syncro . I did think about swivel type spring perch. I even modelled up a prelim design. But it was giving more lift than I wanted. I think burley used to sell swivel perches, but haven’t seen them on his site recently. Anyway, it’s all fun and games and finding out about things :-) Ab > On Mar 21, 2022, at 10:34 AM, OlRivrRat <OlRivrRat@comcast.net> wrote: > > AB > > Love the Idea & Craftsmanship,, I have often pondered, while having that Perch in view, why it @Least > > didn’t have some sort of built in angle to it like that ~ Ideally, IMHO, it might be nice to have that perch on a > > shaft so as to allow it to pivot as needed ~ Suppose though, that since they seem to work sufficiently in OEM > > config’, any of that may just be unnecessary overkill ~ > > In regards to Your wondering if the Geom’ is Correct > I guess it's Probably better than OEM ~ > > > >> On 21 Mar , 2022, at 9:31 AM, Alistair Bell <albell@SHAW.CA> wrote: >> >> I’m thinking … if the canted perch is a mistake… taking into consideration the arc of the trailing arm travel, I can modify the plastic pad on top to have opposite canting. >> >> I’m eager to see just how the geometry works out. >> >> Alistair >> >>>> On Mar 21, 2022, at 6:31 AM, ddbjorkman@verizon.net wrote: >>> >>> I saw that in your last post.
