Festoon bulb is a type of bulb that is tubular or barrel shaped with the electrical contacts at each end. I don’t know how long it would take for the LEDs bulbs to deplete what ever battery you have. The LED power usage is a fraction of the halogen incandescent. Plus it’s dimmable . The draw of the stock bulbs… I can’t recall. I don’t have a stock light unit installed . I think Simon mentions something in the vid on my blog Alistair > On Jul 18, 2022, at 6:52 PM, David McNeely <davmcneely40@gmail.com> wrote: > > > Alister, what do you mean by "festoon" bulbs? I have not heard that usage before. Is the draw from the bulbs in the stock lamp that meaningful? How long to deplete the starter battery, if one is still using that, no house battery, no solar install? > >> On Mon, Jul 18, 2022 at 6:31 PM Alistair Bell <albell@shaw.ca> wrote: >> Friend Greg has created a really good drop in replacement for the halogen festoon bulbs in the westy kitchen light . It’s dimmable led, no mods to the light unit needed, apart from taking out the festoon bulbs.it’s really quite impressive. >> >> Blog post >> >> https://shufti.blog/2022/07/18/vanagon-stock-westy-kitchen-light-improvement/ >> >> >> >> Alistair
