Sorry, guys. This message got chopped. Now trying again. At 65 to 70 MPH my 2005 2.5 engine starts stumbling. Slow down, and it settles back down so I'm limited to 60 mph or less. My mobile car scanner says it's the VSS. I tend to agree since I found excess movement in the final drive axles coming out of the transaxle. I can get that fixed since I'm pretty sure the VSS is picking up a bad signal as the shaft wobbles at high speed since the magnetic signal comes from the CV bolt heads. The other thing seems to occur at any normal highway speed but random in its occurrence. Cruising, the engine just suddenly quits cold - no warning at all. Just like the ignition switch has been turned off. I have found that if I instantly take my foot off the gas pedal and immediately apply pressure again it runs just like nothing happened =- until 15 miles up the road it happens again. Has anyone any suggestions as to what might be going on?
