A couple of winters back I got a set of alloy wheels and Michelin X-Ice winter tires for my Mazda CX5 from Tirerack.com. They mounted and balanced the tires, installed new TPMS sensors, and shipped to me for about $1500. The cost of the wheels amortizes out over a few years by saving expense of mounting and balancing tires twice a year. Tirerack has a good website, just plug in you car model and you can price out a wheel and tire package for your Rav4. I went down 1" in wheel size for the winter setup, this is often recommended so you can use a taller tire, there is a bit of sacrifice in handling but I find it to be OK. -Mark > On Oct 26, 2022, at 1:28 PM, Eric Caron <ericcaron96@COMCAST.NET> wrote: > > Hi folks, > > Traffic being light I’m asking a general tire question. > > I would like to purchase a set of 18 wheels for a 2022 Rav4 Prime SE. > I want these to be used for snow tires so sturdy but as inexpensive as possible. > I’m totally lost trying to search tire sites. > > My local shops don’t do rims just the tires, so I could either by just the wheels on line or get a package. > > Any links for some options would be greatly appreciated as asking my wife to do this with me is not going to end well. > I’m in Southern VT so on line is likely my only option for rims. > > Eric Caron
