hope that this is how you post to this list...

I have successfully removed the fuel sender etc. and noticed two small
indentations opposite each other on the inside surface of the opening. The
gasket is correspondingly thick ( thicker than the replacement gaskets
are)in the two places of the indentations which seems logical. This is not
where the two halves meet.
Should i just put it back together and hope all is good?

oh and BTW i don't recommend doing this indoors in the winter..
