Hmmmm.... . Not my experience with State Farm at all, though I have only dealt with them as a not at fault party with their customer at fault. They sent an adjuster to me, not me to a body shop. The adjuster said the damage is X amount, and "I'll cut you a check now." I said, "No, I'll take it to 3 shops and let you know what the cost of repair is." He said, essentially, "Here is the check, take or don't, we will not pay based on any other estimates." I said, for him to just keep his check, and I'd get back with them as to what it would cost and where I wanted the work done. It took over 3 months to get it straight, but eventually I got my car fixed at the shop I chose, and reimbursed for the rental I had to get for the 3 months. It seemed like the company thought I'd give up. Maybe a lot of people do. I have no use for State Farm. mcneely On Sun, Jul 23, 2023 at 4:45 PM OlRivrRat <OlRivrRat@comcast.net> wrote: > I’ve had StFarm for many many Years & pay $772.58/Yr for My > 90Westy & > > have never been disappointed when I needed them ~ Several Years ago a car > in > > front hit a tree branch in the road & flipped it into My Van taking out > the DriveSide > > HeadLight, puting a thumbnail sized dent in the body edge left of the > light& another > > small dent in the DriveSide Groove a couple of feet behind the door,,, > Body shop > > StFarm sent Me to said it would be $1200 to fix,,, StFarm handed Me a > Check & > > said fix it or don’t, We don’t care,,, I asked, If I cash the check will > My rates go up > > & answer was, If You had hit the branch Your rates would go but since the > branch > > hit You there will be no increase ~ > > ORR ~ DeanB > > > On 23 Jul , 2023, at 4:40 AM, John Rodgers <jrodgers113@GMAIL.COM> > wrote: > > > > Thanks for the info.
