In my '67 bus, I used 3/4" carpet backing in the doors, under the carpet,
on the ceiling, above the engine, and evry nook an cranny I could stuff it in. 
It make quite a difference from just a bare metal interior, but the sad truth 
is, there is no way to completely quiet down a bus.
