If you use the 1/2" breaker with a 1/2" 36mm socket to loosen the fly wheel
gland nut, or axle nut on the Bug,  you will be making another trip to
Sears to buy a...

3/4 " breaker bar and 3/4" 36mm socket.

I have broken those 1/2 breaker bars.  Easily.  Get 3/4" drive for the big
nut/high torque jobs.
