Hello,

The VW annoncement that they are going ahead with their concept beetle   
replacement car started me thinking a bit.  Why a beetle, and not a bus?

In Phoenix, I did a couple of informal polls ... counting beetles and   
buses on the road.  So far, I've only counted about 100 units in three   
separate runs and the ratio is about 2.5 beetles to 1 bus.  I know that   
I'm not considering the fact that vanagons were sold years after there   
were no more beetles, but the original sales ratio must have been greater   
than 20 beetles per bus.  I saw no Eurovans.

I'm not sure what this means, nor how true the ratios hold in other parts   
of the country, but I think that VW ought to be concerned.

Has anyone invited VW to join this list?
