Don, check the wire resistor ends w/ an ohm meter(should be 5k ohms...if infinity you have an open circuit).I have found this to be an intermittant problem in most Vanagons,as well as MBZ and BMW who use the same BERU wires.You can replace just the resistor ends(buy them at MBZ dealer) Ed Berroth 84 Westy Wolf 87 Stinkcrow
