Yes I have a Dometic fridge and yes I made ice-cubes every evening for libations and probabaly could have made ice-cubes during the day too. The food didn't freeze, just two trays of ice cubes...one on each aluminum platform. Sounds like I'm in a lucky minority....Harry (85 Westy) ------------- Original Text ========================================================================= Date: Sender: Vanagon Mailing List <vanagon@vanagon.com> From: Gerald Skerbitz <gsker@lenti.med.umn.edu>, on 7/23/97 8:15 AM: Subject: <fairwind@northernnet.com> On Wed, 23 Jul 1997 hgmueller@hydro.mb.ca wrote: > Hi Scott, having just come back from the maiden voyage with my 85 Westy I > can report that the fridge (and stove) worked perfectly on 12V and propane. > No noise, propane made ice cubes every day and moves between campsites at > 12V kept the fridge adwquately cold. > BTW, my fridge doesn't seem to work on 120V and given the way it works in > the other modes I'm not even going to try to fix it. You made ICE with a westy fridge? Is it a Dometic just like the rest of us have? This is just about unheard of. Mine certainly would never make ice. Where did you make ice? Didn't the rest of the food freeze too then? -- Gerry Gerald Skerbitz <gsker@med.umn.edu> U of MN Med School Admin 6-5379 Home St. Paul,Ramsey County,Minnesota, USA
