Bill, I lived in New Orleans for seven years, traveled the state often
and never had any trouble. That's not to say there aren't some places you
could get into trouble, I have just never found them. Was in the army, so
I had out of state plates for half of those years. Obey the law and you
can enjoy your trip thru the "Sportsman's Paradise".
