While replacing the heads on an 87, I made the very unpleasant error of
knocking a cylinder past the rings while tapping on it to get it unstuck. 
Do I have a prayer of getting the piston off the rod without removing the
engine if I buy the VW special tools?  I was trying to be soooo careful and
blew it with one bad stroke! TIA

Sure is nice to have the list back up!
