It's been my expeerience that the aftermarket CV boots don't last nearly as lonhg as the original equipment from VW. Surely some SoCal company makes a bullet proof CV boot for offroad use that fits the bus flange and not just the 930 Porsche CV's. I must admit I've never had one go south that quick though. Within 200 miles, right rear outer boot ripped, (replaced and > repacked for no charge), and 100 miles later, left inner did same. > Mechanic has replaced boots with different brand and is as befuddled as I > am. This guy knows VWs, but is their some way of not installing a boot > correctly that will cause it to rip? These were seperated completely > around the circumference of the boot. Thanks-Scott
