If you take a drum off and look closley at the adjuster you will see a flat
spring that also engages the adjuster wheel. Its job is to hold the adjuster
wheel in position. If this flat spring is broken or just bent away from the
adjuster wheel then that is your problem.

Anyway, Anyone try to install the self adjusting drums from a Vanagon on a bus?
