Do you think it could be your drive shaft.  I had an '81 Toyota Celica that
had a similar problem and one of the clips came off the u-joint on the drive
shaft and made it spin unbalanced.  At certain rpms it was not a problem and
at others it would shake the car.  Let me know what you discover.
