Ok, this is sort of a can of worm gears:

The correct VW coolant for vanagons (and most Eurovans) should have a blue
color.

Most other std coolant has a green color.

Some new VW coolant has a red color (I think)

Some new GM coolant I think is red too.

Here is where it gets a little strange. As coolant ages it does change colors
slightly. VW may even have charts to tell if your coolant (blue stuff) is OK
just from the color.
