I just wanted to let the List know that I have a source of alternators for
Vanagons that are used but good.  I am asking $50 for a good used alternator.
The only difference in the alternator is that the pulley is different and
where the little blue wire hooks on it is a bolt and nut attachment instead of
just a plug.  It is very easy to overcome these two small differences (I did
it with my van).  Let me know if anyone is interested or write down my email
address for future reference.  I can ship them COD to you anywhere in the US.
