As far as I was able to tell when I had a syncro, the syncro tank will fit in a
2wd vanagon. But it will not fit in any kind of diesel because of the higher
starter mounting.

The only bad part now is that the transmission and maybe the engine must be
pulled from the van to install the tank. Also some means of filling the tank
must be added. Maybe the stock syncro fuel filler?
