If you are concerned because you are not receiving any messages from the
vanagon list AND you want to determine if the list server is working, you
only need to send the message "THANKS" (without quotation marks) to
listserv@gerry.vanagon.com. IF the server is working you should you
receive an immediate reply (30 secs to an hour, depending on traffic to
the server), "YOU'RE WELCOME". If you DO NOT receive this response (do
give the server some time if it isn't immediate) then it's time to contact
Ron Lussier or Chris Smith directly. Email to vanagon-request is likely
not to work because it gets processed by the same server that handles the
list traffic, so if the list server is down ... well I hope you get the
picture! Whereas email directly to us gets processed on a different
system, practically never down.
