Howdy,

Just sat in the New Beetle at my local dealer.  Red with auto trans and cloth interior, no sunroof.  Interesting.

Price $17,550 plus $4995 dealer mark up = $22545.

I dont believe it!  California Emissions are only $100.  Why only $2000 mark up in Maryland and  $5000 here.

I guess the Bay Area will always have a special place in its heart for VWs and now..... its wallet too.

Ill stick to my 90 Westy
