I commuted 37 miles each way every day with my old '84.  It was mostly
highway miles.  Since I drove all the time in it it was always in great
shape to take a big trip.  No surprises as it was constantly maintained.

Just thought I'd mention the plus side of using your van to commute,
besides it being the most comfortable vehicle I'd ever driven.
