How do all you Westy owners solve that problem of smaller diameter pots slipping through the grate where it opens for the burners on the stove top? I can't quite figure the logic behind making this space so large. Maybe to keep it clear of the flame? Anyway, it's annoying. I have been using a three-legged metal stand designed for use under a dutch oven (one of those heavy cast iron pots your grandmother uses) when cooking over a campfire. I got it at Campmor. (And I don't have a dutch oven, just the stand.) It kind of hooks around the existing grate and rests on the stainless steel surface around the burners. It works pretty well in to support a coffee perculator or small pot at the same height as the existing grate. The problem is it's beginning to scratch the stainless steel. We can't have that. I have looked for some kind of grate to lie on top of the "factory" grate but haven't found anything small enough. I'm assuming we all have the same condition. I'm interested in any solutions.
