OK everyone, My '80-'83 Haynes manual says 125 ft-lbs. for the lug nuts. I don't have my Bentley handy to check what they say, but there may be a different spec for Syncros -- I don't know. I set mine to 125 ft-lbs, and have no trouble getting them off.
