came verrry close to going with the corvair flat six in my 79 westy. I went so
far as to even purchase an engine, the 140hp/ 4 carb model, complete with
manual trans, 2 starters, and 2 new clutch assemblies-- got 'em fairly
inexpensive. Anyways, I thought about using the setup in the 84, but then what
do I do for defrosters?
Has anyone on the list had experience with the corvair conversion? The only
one I ever saw was Bill from VW Bus Heaven's ( that's what got me on this
'vair thing in the first place)

there was a company in the mid sixties to early 70's that was called
"Transvair" (transporter+corvair, hence the name) that was sort of like
Kennedy, but specialized in only Corvair conversions for the bus (tho i have
seen a bug w/ a Corvair engine in it...sticks out the ass end of a bug...)
