Got this little snippet from by brother... Mr.. bug... seems to confirm what we are hearing.

specs on an engine or anything but I would bet that the VR6 or the maybe the
Audi V5 would be the only engines big enough to push the thing around.  I
have heard the talk about the V6 TDI that is already in the works.  Is
supposed to appear in the 99 or2000 Passat.  Rumor has it that it puts out
about 150 hp!!!!!!!  >
