I am pretty sure that no Vanagon diesel ever had a power steering pump.  Those
things have a warning about not putting an A/C compressor on the engine
printed up on a bright red sticker on the timing belt cover!  (Talk about
underpowered!)  However I see no reason why you couldn't get a bracket from a
Golf for the power steering pump or fabricate one yourself (since the motor is
kinda on a funky tilt the normal bracket might not be practical).
